I don't know how to set path and change directories.How can I install software to Ubuntu Linux System from .gz2?

Why are you even trying to do this? the Ubuntu repositories have everything you need. In fact, whatever it is you're trying to install is probably already there. All you have to do is search the repositories and install it.



Without more information about what you're trying to do, can't help much.



By the way, a gz2 file is just something compressed with gzip.
Are you sure that you don't mean .bz2?

You should only use this method of installing software in ubuntu if it is not available in the repository via synaptic. This way can install files that might conflict with files that you currently have installed and cause numerous stability problems for your whole system. If you start getting all kinds of errors when running other programs after using this method you should remove all those .bz2 files.
